NHR@SW looks back on an exciting and successful week at ISC High Performance 2026 in Hamburg.

At the joint NHR-Verein, NHR-Alliance booth, we hosted three NHR Sofa Talks, met collaborators from other NHR centers and the international HPC community, and participated in workshops and discussions on current and future challenges in scientific computing.

Our Sofa Talks brought together experts from academia, research infrastructure, and industry:

• Teaching and Research with Hybrid Quantum Computers Organized by Prof. Thomas Lippert, Goethe University Frankfurt, Jülich Supercomputing Centre, and NHR@SW

• Data Management, I/O and Storage in the Age of HPC/AI Organized by Prof. Sarah M. Neuwirth, Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz and NHR@SW

• Energy-Aware Data Centers Co-organized by Radita Liem, JGU Mainz, NHR@SW, and Christian Wassermann, RWTH Aachen University, NHR4CES

A special highlight was the presentation of the SCW75 Certificate of Recognition to Prof. Sarah M. Neuwirth, recognizing her as part of the inaugural Scientific Computing World 75 list.

We thank everyone who joined our sessions, visited the booth, and contributed to many inspiring conversations. We look forward to continuing the exchange across NHR and the wider HPC community.
